Welcome Back (Kinda) – Hawks Trade for Michal Handzus

As we all knew it would be, Stan Bowman has gone out and acquired someone none of us had speculated much about- one-time Hawk (for 8 games) Michal Handzus.

For those unfamiliar, Hadzus was brought here to center Marty Havlat as a part of what was to he the original Hawks resurgence, and that lasted for all of about 8 games before Zeus shredded his knee. They were a fun 8 games though, weren’t they?

Since then, Handzus has plied his trade on the west coast, with four seasons with the Kings, and now in his second with the Sharks, in a primarily defensive role. Handzus is giant (6’4″, 220 lbs), ugly, has terrifying clown hair, and skates like he has a load of crap in his pants. But he wins draws. He’s winning 55.6% of them this year, and is 51.1% for his career. His possession metrics leave a lot to be desired, but a lot of that has been a function of being in a shutdown role. However, in giving up just a fourth rounder for him, it’s a very low risk move with huge potential dividends, depending on how Quenneville uses him. If he’s plugged into the John Madden 2010 role where he’s out there for pretty much every draw and then gets his poo-filled breezers right back onto the bench as a 4th line center with Kruger now filling in as the #2C with Sharp taking draws, this could have some very positive effects. But Zus just screams Quenneville Man Crush, so look for him to see power play time and play against people he shouldn’t.

With the market being what it is, even if it’s not the best option, it’s at least comforting to know know that Stan is seeing what we’re seeing, now Quenneville just needs to use him correctly.

  • 10thMountainFire

    Meh. Ehhhh.

  • cliffkoroll

    I’ll allow it.

    • 10thMountainFire

SJ fans appear to believe Wilson used a mind trick on us. They’re largely overjoyed they dumped him.

      • Z-man19

        2.5 mil cap hit btw

        • laaarmer

How much of the hit is to The Hawks? All of it or is it prorated? Not that it matters, just curious.

          • putmeinthemadhouse

Capgeek has it at 2mil, leaving the hawks with 11mil in deadline space.

          • laaarmer

            11 mil. Go after Crosby!

          • 10thMountainFire

            hahaha

          • Z-man19

            2.5 I believe

          • putmeinthemadhouse

            correct

          • TheFullAmonte

I would assume the hit would just be whatever is left of his contract to be paid, which would be just under 750k. Though I don’t know all of the CBA.

          • Accipiter

Pretty sure you are correct. The Sharks have been paying him up until this point and the Hawks pick up whatever is left of his contract.

    • laaarmer

you said that already old man

  • 2883

It’s a non exciting move, but it’s a Stan Bowman move. Acquire a solid veteran for cheap and hope he rebounds

    • Waylon

That move also reminds me of another team that had the exact same MO – and we all know what team that is, and it makes a lot of sense.

  • Not the Chico Maki Guy

I’m fine with this, but if this gentleman sees 10 seconds of power play time I will break things in my home.

    • 2883

You might want to buy home insurance then… cause he might end up being that net presence.

  • http://twitter.com/davefoxIP Dave Fox

Not a bad move. Especially since Bollig is now once again a Rockford IceHog:

    http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=663250

    • laaarmer

      Nooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • MattC86

So our reaction to the faceoff problem is to trade for a guy who can’t move, thus completely undercutting the advantage the 4th line has when it’s playing well. Because I’m sure Handzus will totally not hold back Morin and Frolik come playoff time, but magically find wheels and wings he’s never had to pace the best 4-line attack in the playoffs. Stupid.

And what am I saying, we know the 4th line is going to have fucking Gorilla Salad on it rather than Morin come playoff time too. If this guy is anything more than a healthy scratch, I’ll be really ticked off. Remember Morrison? Jesus.

    • putmeinthemadhouse

I remember morrison actually playing well in the playoffs after being terrible in the regular season.

      • MattC86

. . . . as a substitute for replacement-level hockey. Then Q got all cute and had him as the 2C.

        • amontesawesome

As laarmer mentioned above, if Handzus is merely replacing a (at best) replacement level player in Bollig I think it’s a good move.

EDIT: Also, I am somewhat optimistic this move might lead to Kruger to the 2nd, Bolland to 3rd, with Handzus center the 4th.

          • Paul the Fossil

That chain reaction I would be happy with.

          • MattC86

Yes, if all of those things happen and Handzus shows utility there I will be delighted to admit my wrongness. I guess we’ll see.

          • Skags

            Kruger to the second?

      • justforkicks

        he did, yeah

  • laaarmer

I remember hearing that announcer (Dan Kelly?) guy talk about him, Havlat and Vrbata like they were the greatest line of all time. I also remember he was good in his 8 games

    • 07GreyDigger

Dan Kelly was awful. Thanks for ruining my day by bringing him up. UGH!

      • laaarmer

I concur and you are muy welcome.

  • MattC86

Also, having a guy take your 4th line draws then skate off the ice means you’re essentially playing with 11 forwards.

    • laaarmer

Except you have the puck more. How do you know he’s skating off? Who did you want, Malkin?

      • amontesawesome

Except when Michal Handzus is on the ice you have the puck less.

        • laaarmer

That is true, but those stats are not with The Blackhawks, so they may have it more. He may lose more draws too. If he replaces Bollig for the rest of the season, it’s a great move.

          • amontesawesome

            Agreed.

        • putmeinthemadhouse

eh, he played with the budget mix-a-six that is the sharks lower lines..

      • MattC86

If he stays on, the speed that would be the line’s greatest advantage in bumslaying is pissed away. Kruger’s a better 4th line center.

        • MattC86

And yes, look, I’ll say this in advance – I will be the first to admit I’m wrong if he does well and the 4th line picks up, etc. I just don’t think he will add anything.

          • putmeinthemadhouse

why dont we just watch him play in the red sweater for a few games before we piss all over his shoes?

          • MattC86

It’s called rendering a verdict before anything actually happens – i.e., what media (especially sports media) does. I think the guy sucks based on what I’ve seen of him in San Jose. I’ll be delighted to be proven wrong. Am I not allowed to have a reaction?

          • Skags

It’s certainly not a sexy pick and you might even call it disappointing considering how bad we need a center for the second line. At least, somehow I’ve convinced myself that he really need a center for the second line. Best record in the league tells me I’m being a little greedy.

But my initial reaction is much like yours. Ugh. Mayers is pretty bad. And really so is Carcillo and Bollig. If he can somehow show he’s an improvement over those guys, then I’ll give Stan the nod.

Right now I’m underwhelmed and I don’t really see how he fits. But Q being Q….

          • 10thMountainFire

In Soviet Russia, verdict renders YOU.

          • Z-man19

Wait, we should actually let the guy play before we decide if he’s any good???? WTF kind of logic is that?

          • 10thMountainFire

Then what the hell are blogs for then?

          • Z-man19

            So you can love everyone!!!!

          • 10thMountainFire

            Mission accomplished.

            Because of Jeremy Morin.

          • laaarmer

Why don’t you just admit it now? Handzus can play hockey better than Mayers, Carcillo, or Bollig. This is a fine move.

          • MattC86

Maybe, Maybe, and Yes. And there’s no guarantee he will be used in a way that suits his limited current set of skills. But we’ll see. I’m hoping the story here is that Boyd Gordon’s asking price was out of this world so StanBow settled for this instead.

          • laaarmer

Ah. Boyd Gordon was the answer. I’m writing that down. Handzus is a good player. Who is he playing with in SJ?

          • MattC86

Stop being a prick. I said Gordon would be a better pickup, cause he can do things besides win draws at this point in his career. Haven’t we seen what happens when we hope better players can drag the corpses of once-useful players up and down the ice here? Morrison, Brunette. . . . even Madden wasn’t as all-saving as a lot of people pretend around here.

          • laaarmer

            No, No and No.
Burn it down! Michael Handzus is coming.

          • MattC86

I didn’t say that Michael Handzus is going to singlehandedly torpedo any playoff chances of ours, for fuck’s sake. I said I didn’t think he was going to really do anything.

          • laaarmer

They acquired Handzus and sent Bollig down. I fail to see how this is bad. He is better than Bollig. This is fine.

          • MattC86

I will agree if Carcillo is scratched, because that’s where Bollig was yesterday. But I bet you keep Carcillo playing, scratch Mayers, and send down Morin and Hayes when Hoss and Sharp get back. I’m not sure I consider that an upgrade.

          • MattC86

And by you I mean Q.

          • laaarmer

I didn’t know all that happened and that Handzus caused it. Hossa and Sharp may be back too. That is an upgrade to Morin and Hayes. When do rosters expand? You know, St. Pierre can do all these things you want. We just have to get him signed.

          • AMR

I think rosters expand the day after the trade deadline but in this season who knows

          • laaarmer

            3:00 April 3.
Bollig will be back on the 4th then I assume.

          • Accipiter

Thus restoring order to the universe.

          • 10thMountainFire

I don’t live with you all, then.

          • putmeinthemadhouse

            Expanded roster after trade deadline.

          • MattC86

And as I said, I’m giving my initial goddamned reactions. Obviously, there’s a reason other people are in charge and not me. I’m just saying I don’t like it. You’ve made your point you disagree. Point taken.

          • 10thMountainFire

            I’m with you 100%, Matt.

          • 10thMountainFire

I reacted to Handzus with Brunette logic as well.

          • Accipiter

It’s like Speed 2, only with a bus instead of a boat !

          • 10thMountainFire

            You’re waking the neighbors!

          • MattC86

The Bus that Couldn’t Speed Up?

          • 10thMountainFire

I don’t think Handzus is a better option than Mayers.

          • laaarmer

            You would be wrong.

          • 10thMountainFire

            Let’s do this!

          • laaarmer

            Fine. Your mother is hampster!

          • 10thMountainFire

You were dumped on a the back hitch of a trailer in eastern Kentucky as an infant!

          • laaarmer

            bender

          • 10thMountainFire

            Don’t mind if I do. It’s a Labatt’s night.

          • MattC86

Isn’t there an elderberry reference to be made here somewhere?

          • 10thMountainFire

I actually think this is a bad move. Aside from forcing Bollig back to Piggieville, that is.

          • Waylon

Meh, I don’t think it really matters, since we’ll have some call – ups due shortly. Which means moar Bollig, but also possibly some Ben Smith.

          • 10thMountainFire

I love me some Ben Smith.

        • 10thMountainFire

          100% this.

        • mad-hatter

Kruger is by far a better 4th line center. When he and Fro were together that line was seeing tougher quality of competition in comparison with our supposed third line. Shaw, Bicks, and Stals as a whole were seeing the easiest quality of competition, which is why they appear to be doing so well. However, as many have said this may allow Bolly to return to the third line, with Kruger taking the second line and Shaw dropping to the fourth as a wing opposite Morin (though it should be Hayes), with Carcillo eating all the nachos he wants.

  • TheFullAmonte

Is Handzus signed past this year?

    • putmeinthemadhouse

no he is UFA. Total rental player.

      • TheFullAmonte

Perfect. I think he should be what Mayers was last year.

        • 10thMountainFire

          Mayers > Handzus.

          • justforkicks

already setting the bar low, huh?

          • mad-hatter

I don’t know. Handzus may be able to stand in front of a net which means he’s better than Mayers in that aspect. We’ll see how it goes in practice.

          • 10thMountainFire

I don’t know how we find out what Mayers can do… he has been in Q’s super-secret doghouse this season. No one can figure it out.

          • mad-hatter

Lepisto knows. That’s why he’s hiding in Europe.

          • Z-man19

Not to stir the pot but I never understood why Lepisto saw the press box as much as he did, Mayers on the other hand…

          • mad-hatter

Is there a Lepisto pot to be stirred? I recall the popular opinion around SCH last year was that Lepisto should have played more often. He got the most minutes when dressed, and wasn’t a disaster with Monty. He at least was fast enough to keep up with the pace.

          • Z-man19

No, I don’t want XMF to get his undies in a wad about Mayers

          • 10thMountainFire

Joke’s on you. None of us wear pants here.

          • Accipiter

Yeah, Q’s been staving him, teasing him, singing off key. Me may mah mo, me mo ma me.

          • TheFullAmonte

This year that’s debatable. But, if healthy, all the Hawks need from a 4th line is to not be terrible. The chances of this happening are greatly improved if none of the following play: Bollig, Carcillo, Mayers, or Handzus. In an ideal world none of them play in the playoffs. I see no problem with Handzus being an insurance guy who can fill in on the 4th line if a center goes down

  • ahnfire

Because of Handzus, Bollig got sent down to the A to make room.

I LIKE YOU ALREADY, HANDZUS. DON’T FUCK THIS UP.

    • Z-man19

This by itself might be worth the trade

    • 10thMountainFire

      I LOVE YOU!

    • 10thMountainFire

      EVERYONE UPBOAT THIS!

      • ahnfire

        fine, geez, so demanding…

        • 10thMountainFire

Of course it had to be ahn that pointed out that I was full-on dumbfuck there.

She just happened to be FOA, I doubt she thinks any less of you

          • 10thMountainFire

    • MattC86

If you think I’m overreacting to Handzus, you should be delighted I realized this was not real.

    • 10thMountainFire

That’s fucked up. You can’t do that to people on a Monday.

  • mightymikeD

Our friend ElvisVF101 at Fear The Fin had this to say when I asked him about the trade

“No one here will miss Handzus. He’s been pretty awful for us.
He’s a solid faceoff man, and he’s a big body, but other than that, the
game seems to have left him by. Even in sheltered ice time, he bleeds
scoring chances and is an awful CORSI and Fenwick Player.
As the CI guys said, he’s exactly the sort of guy Q loves. On the
plus side, early in his tenure with us, he was mildly effective on the
Power Play as a big body providing a screen. Assuming he’s healthy, he
could provide some value on a 2nd unit doing just that to give the big
boys some rest and occasionally chip in a goal or assist, but I’m pretty
sure you have at least 15 seperate players who should see time on the
    man advantage over him.
He can play the PK… he does block shots, and he used to play an up
tempo kill where he’d apply pressure, but again, he may just not be fast
    enough anymore.
His contract is expiring, and he cost you literally nothing. He can’t
hurt you guys. I wouldn’t get too excited about the move at all.”

    and

“This is quintessential addition by subtraction for us

Any night Handzus saw the ice, it was guaranteed his line
would get destroyed, putting further pressure on the top 2 lines to
carry the play. You guys know all about the John Scott effect. Let’s
just say Handzus did the same thing to us, just at Forward instead of
    defense.
Put him on the 4th line and have him come in to win a draw and then
immediately leave the ice (assuming he skates fast enough to do so) and
you’ll get value out of him”

    • 2883

A friend of the devil is a friend of mine

    • Sparky_The_Barbarian

Of course you realize these guys still think Thornton is a money player.

      • 10thMountainFire

You’re just getting all my upboats today.

    • 10thMountainFire

Yeah. They all seemed WAY too happy to lose this guy.

    • Hawkeytalk

      sounds like Brunette, doesn’t it?

  • chichicagochi

    Woops

    • putmeinthemadhouse

      that was a fake mckenzie.

I said If only. Ryder too

      • Accipiter

        Witness.

  • Sparky_The_Barbarian

“…now Quenneville just needs to use him correctly.”

Way to kill the buzz, man.

    • 10thMountainFire

So upped. For the children… you understand.

  • 2883

I think this might mean we see Kruger elevated in the lineup though

  • Country_Bumpkin

I thought I read some murmurings about getting Pavelski from SJS. Hopefully this helps and can move PsychoBolly to the third line.

    • 10thMountainFire

There is no way DW sends Pavelski to Chicago. None.

      • ahnfire

        All my tears.

plz to give us Pavelsteeg plz?? ughhh I wants…

        • Z-man19

Cry for the next 2 days, see if it happens :).

        • 10thMountainFire

I am also a Kris Pavelski (Joey Versteeg?) fan. But it won’t happen. Because of the Taliban.

    • putmeinthemadhouse

      That would never happen.

  • ballyb11

Who cares if he’s ugly if he can win faceoffs.

Sickening watching this crew of misfits we have.

    • 10thMountainFire

Did you just call Sam, McClure, Hack, and Killion ‘misfits’ in pejorative? They likely take that as a compliment. Just sayin.

      • ballyb11

        My comment speaks for itself.

        • mad-hatter

Intentional fallacy. Get it straight XMF

    • MattC86

I do think it’s hilarious that we’ve all bitched about the faceoff problem so heartily, and now a move to remedy that has us heavily divided on whether it was a good move or shitty one.

      • mad-hatter

We all just want Pirri in two years.

        • putmeinthemadhouse

pirri isnt going to be here in two years. he is probably going to be on another team because teravainnen and danault

          • mad-hatter

This is also possible, but depends on how those two develop. Either way, things look pretty good in a few years.

          • Accipiter

            Emmett Brown ?

          • mad-hatter

            Call me “Doc.”

          • lizmcneill

Are TT and Danault centers? I thought one of them at least was a wing. Not that people don’t move when they come up the NHL anyway.

          • girlphoenix

i never trust what position the rosters say cause it seems like the coaches/brass don’t give a shit anyway

          • lizmcneill

A lot of the time it seems to be great forward = C, good forward = W (for whatever level), no matter what the player’s strengths suit them to.

          • ahnfire

I believe that most players grow up learning to play C (all-around) but as they get older & closer to the show, they shift toward W because there’s more room on the roster for wingers.

The ones that are bigger & more defensively minded tend to stay centers & the others branch off, IMO.

          • mad-hatter

They are both centers, but, as you said, one might move to wing once they get to the NHL. It’s not likely, though, considering how they did in their respective clubs this season.

Edit: Just kidding, McNeill is also a center? I thought he was playing wing.

          • Accipiter

TT is listed as C/LW and Danault is a C.

        • girlphoenix

i don’t think pirri is gonna win us too many faceoffs also

          • mad-hatter

Is there something in the Rockford air that hinders being good at faceoffs? Get the Mylex suits out!

          • Accipiter

They don’t practice FO anymore because of math.

          • mad-hatter

Can’t we tell them it’s geography? It’s totally geography.

          • lizmcneill

There’s a gif from morning skate where Mayers and Toews are practicing faceoffs. I think Mayers clips Toews’ skate and he falls, not on his ass because he flips onto his front, but the effect is equally hilarious. Maybe not practicing is the answer….

          • laaarmer

They practice to lose the FO and then use all their energy to get the puck back. It’s working based on conf standings.

          • girlphoenix

it’s harder to tell cause the ahl doesn’t keep faceoffs stats

          • mad-hatter

Well last year his average FO was 47.6% so that’s still an improvement over what we currently have.

          • mad-hatter

Which is awesome, but that’s probably where they’ll stay for a bit longer.

  • 10thMountainFire

You know all this talk about Sharp, Kruger, Bolland as 2C would be obsolete if the Hawks would just get a goddamn 2C.

    • Joe Banks

And yet, they’re so hard to find.

  • MattC86

I’m also enjoying the implication that Gorilla Salad and Mayers are huge upgrades over the flotsam Handzus was playing with in SJ.

    • putmeinthemadhouse

what makes you think he would be playing with them

      • MattC86

Hoping for Q to scratch the two of them permanently is too much to ask for.

        • putmeinthemadhouse

hes not going to be playing with mayers, they are both centers. Carcillo isnt going to play over frolik, and unless morin shits the bed he probably has the spot.

          • MattC86

Again – I hope you’re right and will be delighted it should be so. But I fear for a Q-mess.

    • Z-man19

I think it’ll be Fro, Morin, Hayes or Smith. I’m hoping they are upgrades

      • Accipiter

        I’m hoping they are upboats.

        • Z-man19

          For me? Thanks

  • Joe Banks

So I says to myself, “Handzus”? and then I says to myself, “he’s kinda slow, isn’t he? and then I sees, “skates like he has a load of crap in his pants”.
But here’s to not being dicked at the dot!!!

  • putmeinthemadhouse

Anyone else think its funny that rosi has 5 less points than bolland with 9 less games played?

    • 10thMountainFire

That’s not funny at all. There is absolutely nothing humorous about that. Nothing.

  • Hack

I’m not ready to say that I love or hate this move (leaning one way), but I definitely don’t like the “it’s fine because it bumps bollig/carcillo out of the lineup” logic. There are two moves that could have (and eventually should have) bumped those two off of the 4th line, and both moves would have been preferable (IMO):
    1) No trades – sharp to center, Saad to 2LW, shelter the fuck out of 20-10-88, black ace to top 6 LW (morin is already more of a top 6 LW than tomas kopecky is/was), Bolland to 3C, Shaw to 4LW (forming a pretty sweet 4th line Shaw-Kruger-Fro)
    2) Trade for 2C, same trickle down effect
I’m not 100% on the “faceoff impact is negligible at best” bandwagon, but I’m comfortabe saying that the positive impact of the 2-3 (at most) draws won/game via Handzus will be negated quickly if he’s at all a hindrance on the pace of the Hawks’ game.

    • laaarmer

      1)Sharp is injured
      2) Which 2C and who do you trade?

      • Accipiter

Put Kaner at 2C and trade him.

        • laaarmer

Trade Kane for a 2C? You could get good 2C like Sharp if you traded Kane.

        • Z-man19

Can we put Carillo at 2C and trade him?

      • Hack

        1) Are you saying that the Handzus move was made due to Sharp’s health? This strikes me as the type of move that they make whether Sharp is healthy or not; so, I’m not sure that I see your point.

        2) I wouldn’t mind Roy or Ribeiro. I love Stalberg’s game these days, but if he can’t be resigned, maybe he’s the piece going the other way w/ pirri. Fro moves up, Smith on the 4th line. I like this team better with Vik than without, but it’s starting to look like the Bolland-Kane combo is here to stay, and as we all know, I hate the Bolland-Kane hybrid checking line.

Maybe Handzus ends up being a solid move, but this smells like a move that was geared toward improvement at the dot. If Kruger is currently the answer at 2C, I would like to think that he would’ve been playing there already. From a percentage standpoint, faceoff improvement due to Handzus’ presence will correlate to 1-2, maybe 3 on a real good night, more faceoff wins/game. Will that be worth it if he doesn’t play all that well at even strength and the 4th line ceases to be a matchup problem for other teams?

Bowman may have more up his sleeve which will show this move in a different light. We’ll have to wait and see.

      • Hack

Also, I find it a bit ridiculous that a guy who’s been a healthy scratch lately cost a 4th round pick. Fourth round picks might not hit all that often, but they aren’t throwaway picks either; Hammer, Kruger, Shaw, & Stalberg were all drafted in the 4th round or later.

“On the ice, Handzus was arguably the Sharks’ single-worst forward last year, dragging down each and every one of his linemates at even-strength while providing very little value to a penalty kill unit he was brought in to assist. While Handzus’ shorthanded performance improved a bit this season, he remained an awful territorial player at evens who provided no offense to speak of despite being used in even easier minutes.” – The Neutral @ Fear the Fin.

It’s just one blogger’s opinion, but I’m not going to get excited about giving up a 4th round pick to net 1-2 extra draws won and a roster spot taken up to push out two guys that should’ve been pushed out by better players in Rockford.

This is the part where I sit and wait for Handzus (and by extension, Bowman) to make me look like a moron.

  • girlphoenix

    really?

    Chicago Blackhawks @NHLBlackhawks
Stan says who lines up where is up to Joel… But Handzus gives him some different looks… Happy with Bolland in #2 slot.

    • mad-hatter

Well it’s not as if Stan’s just going to outright say “We’re fucked at the second line center and have been for years because I can’t get one for the right price. Suck it up Sharpy.”

      • lizmcneill

It’s been more like “suck it up Kaner”, looking at the last couple of years.

    • girlphoenix

also says unlikely to move any current roster guys

      • Accipiter

Oh noes !!! Ben Smith !!!!

        • girlphoenix

he’s hurt right now. i don’t think they can move him

  • Z-man19

Oh goody, we get Konroyd tonight

  • VerStig
  • laaarmer

What if they offered Thornton for Morin, Pirri, and Saad. Would you take it mad-hatter?

    • mad-hatter

Is this your way of asking if we’re drunk yet? Also, rude, and no.

      • 10thMountainFire

Sorry… didn’t see that you asked already.

        • mad-hatter

Well, you can never be too sure with some people around here.

          • 10thMountainFire

            It’s Labatt’s tonight here. Don’t hate me.

          • mad-hatter

            Unpossible.

    • Z-man19

Thornton for Carillo, Mayer and Zues and a puck bag

      • girlphoenix

question: does a puck bag include pucks or is it just for storing them?

        • mightymikeD

          ssshhhh.. that’s where they’re keeping Johnsson’s “remains”

          • girlphoenix

all joking aside i kinda wonder what happened to him. obviously not playing hockey anymore but is he okay in like life and everything

          • ahnfire

I don’t know if he officially retired yet – no one resigned him after our contract with him ended. Last I read, he now lives at home with his family after that last concussion.

          • girlphoenix

that’s good. hopefully it’s not a sad pronger sitting in the dark thing though

          • mightymikeD

back in Sweden I believe… I seem to recall reading that he was much better and doing some coaching but I can’t find anything to back that up

        • Z-man19

That would be a bag of pucks, the puck bag has no pucks

          • girlphoenix

well fuck that deal then ;)

    • 10thMountainFire

      Are you drunk?

    • 2883

No we can’t afford him and Saad is critical for the Hawks future

  • Z-man19

Preds are 63.3% on the PK on the road, WOW. How high will it be after this one?

    • 10thMountainFire

      eleventy %

  • ChicagoSharksFan

As a Sharks fan I’d like to apologize. Even just for a 4th Rounder Doug Wilson still wins this trade. Zus is so slow he won’t even make it to Chicago before the playoffs. He’s good for shootouts and faceoffs. Do your best to keep him off the ice otherwise,y’know, if you want to win games and stuff. Weird how the Sharks are 5-0 since trading Murray and benching Zus. The team is twice as fast. Good luck in Chicago Thundergod.
