Expect to see a shot or two out of Kane tonight…the last time he was held without a shot in a playoff game was in 2009?! Yeah…he’s gonna go off.

    • DJ

He does have the right attitude in that if the best play is a pass, he’ll make the pass as opposed to shooting for its own sake. Some on the site were suggesting that Tampa Bay was cheating toward defending a pass, so the better play might actually be the shot.

      • HawkIPA

TT seems to have gotten the message. Kane will make them pay tonight.

      • ZigZags82

I’ll take a fired up Kane, Toews, and Sharp all night! Cool, calm, and collected!

        • chichicagochi

Sharp is confirmed overthehill imo… I’d be happy with him just not acting like an AHL callup at this point.

          • ZigZags82

I mean. He’s always been a streaky player………so no, not really.

          • chichicagochi

looked like shit for about 8 months

  • HawkIPA

Expect Kane to be all over the place tonight, especially since Q will be able to pick his matchups. Also expect to see a lot of Toews-Stamkos tonight.

    • ZigZags82

Kaner is due here. I’ll take a red assed Kane and Sharp all day! Jonny too!

  • Last time I recall Crawford being really pissed off with his play he went on to shutout the Blues last year. So hopefully that occurs again tonight!

  • Sparky_The_Bard-barian

Here’s hoping that was the cluster fuck game of this series.

Tonight is not a must win. The Ducks series, and the finals in 2013 proved that, but whoever loses tonight, faces a couple of must wins in a row. I keep thinking of those series, which we won, unfortunately I also keep thinking of last years conference finals, where we won the first game and lost the next three, and eventually the series.

    • ZigZags82

Yeah but the Kings dominated us in Game 2, not so here. Hawks have it and will respond to adversity.

  • bigtreina

Can’t score enough on the Lightning, regardless of who’s in net. Stamkos hasn’t really had an impact yet, and this makes me very nervous.

    • Hags

Right now, the Blackhawks are up 52%/48% in attempts and the Lightning are at a .900 SV% for the series without 2 of the top 5 players in the world yet to be heard from in Kane and Toews.

As has been noted around here, during the Toews/Kane Era, it takes a .930 or 55% of attempts by the opposing team to win a playoff series against them. The 2009 Red Wings did both, the 2011 Canucks and 2014 Kings won the possession battle, and of course Mike Smith put up an unholy .955 or whatever it was for the 2012 Coyotes.

      • bigtreina

Yes I’ve read those stats on this site. If stats could perfectly predict the future I’m not sure why we’re even playing this series out. Just bring us the cup.

        • Hags

No stat can perfectly predict the future, but those areas good of an indicator as any about where a series is headed. If those numbers keep tilting in the Hawks favor, there is a high degree of probability of them getting a 3rd Cup in 6 years.

          • bigtreina

I try not to get too excited…but hot damn that would be nice wouldn’t it.

          • Hags

            it would be absolutely wonderful.

    • Sopel the catfish

      Toews + Kane > Stamkos

  • Sopel the catfish

I mentioned this in the game 2 thread, but it bears repeating.

The Hawks have not lost 2 games in a row this entire post season, and about half of the time they won two in a row following a loss.

    Confident, but not cocky.

  • Ryan

Really hoping that Sharp will redeem himself tonight. It was bad enough when he wasn’t contributing, but can’t have him actually making stupid plays, as well.

Win this one to get back on track.

    • SAUVE!! bigsave

I have a sick feeling Hawks go back to Tampa down 3-1, bolts have been better on road than at home..
