Personally, I don’t get why there is so much annoyance with a game 7 overtime loss to an equal, if not better team. With the Hawks roster setup, I didn’t expect them to make it this far. With Handzus, Bollig, and a skating brain cramp in Versteeg….to even make it to the conference finals game 7 was a win in my eyes. I felt like the Hawks were playing with house money once they got passed St. Louis and Colorado got knocked out.

Certainly nothing to be ashamed of, but it is seen as a missed opportunity as we had a 2-0 lead in the first, and a one goal lead heading into the third.

Though people are taking a victory over the Rangers as a given. The Hawks would have been favored in that series but we’ll never know if they would have actually won considering the injuries that they would have carried into the finals.

The Hockeenight guys said Jelly had a concussion, and Odie got hurt in Game 7. There goes your entire 2nd pairing.

The latest estimate has the cap going up to $70.6 million next year, and as much as $76 million in 2015-16:

That’s pretty good news, considering who needs re-signing.
