Impressed with the NY Rangers. They have taken some bad defeats from Tampa Bay, and they went to Florida and won big. They also came back from 3-1 with the Capitals and won. I hope the Hawks can be like the Rangers.

    • Sopel the catfish

Rangers are just doing their best to be like the Hawks, we know who the original is 🙂

  • Brandon Murray

I am at work but not working. I am awake but not thinking. I am focused but not on what I should be. The only thing I can even see in front of me is game 6. We are playing in an elimination game for the right to play in a final elimination game. The Rangers staved it off last night, so I too hope we can be like the Rangers and force a game 7.
I have never doubted this Blackhawks team and I won’t start now. Win or lose tonight and it has still been an excellent season, one that saw us reach the final 2 of the conference for a 5th time in 7 years. That being said, I feel good about sending this thing back to California for what I believe has the makings of one of the greatest game 7’s ever.
But none of that matters if you don’t win game 6, so all I can think about and all anyone should think about is game 6. Let’s Go Hawks!

    • Sopel the catfish

I like the cut of your jib, always enjoy your lead-ins and feel the same overall confident vibe.

      • Brandon Murray

Thank you sir. I’ll be trying to keep my drinking pace with your drinking pace this evening.

    • Right there with you. I need some fruit and crap to get me through the day.

      • rhodes

Fruit & Crap. That would be a great name for a packaged snack food. Overworked parent’s everywhere would be grabbing that off the grocery store shelves.

        • I think that basically encapsulates what fruit roll ups were…emphasis on ‘crap’.

  • Jim

    What’s the book on Svedberg?

He’s had recent action, and the Hawks could use his size (6’9″)

    • jhb

Last we heard he was busy not making enough difference while his team lost an AHL playoff series. Now is not the time for “let’s see what happens.” Tonight is all about the top guys playing all the minutes, the Toews-Kane nuclear option, etc. Emptying the tank on this one – the only way – since Q decided winning game 3 was non-essential.

  • 334Rules

I’m in favor of any option that doesn’t include seeing 44 in an Indian Head sweater tonight. Rundblad might very well not be better, but it would be hard to be worse. I get the impression that Timmonen is trying to make the play that he would have made at 34 years old, but he just doesn’t have the physical tools anymore, and as a result it’s the wrong play.

TVR is intriguing, and if he’s in hockey shape, would probably be a better option than Rundblad or Timmonen, but boy that’s really tossing the dice.

    • Jim

I think Q is 2 games late doing this (Substituting Runblad for Timonen). Runblad at least is mobile. The Timonen trade was a total bust. It was a low percentage play to begin with. But that is the nature of a gamble.

This is Q not developing defensemen during the season, and sticking with Roszival. TVR got hurt, but there were a couple of other guys waiting in the wings.

If they happen to not advance, I put it on Q again (like last year, Handzus). All the pieces were there this year, he did not assemble them correctly. Specifically, not developing depth at defense, and tossing up Game 3. It’s razor thin margin at this level, and you have to have 100% of your ducks in a row (so to speak) 🙂 Anaheim has done a good job of exposing the Hawks weaknesses, and that has been their margin of victory (Runblad, Timonen, Bickell)

To Q’s credit he handled the goalie situation well against Nashville.

I don’t think there is a better coach out there, but Q has been handed such an absolute rare gem, everything he does is magnified.

  • To Saad be the glory

Line rushes and D men the same at morning skate. TVR says he is a definite no go tonight. Timonen skating with Seabrook. I’m going to go stare at the walls for 8 hrs now. Almost wish I had to work today.

    • HawkIPA

Interesting. I thought Rundblad might get a look. Maybe Q is keeping it under wraps? Glad TVR is no-go. Seems like too much to ask of him after missing so much hockey.

    • rhodes

I’m ok with this. Even Bickel and KT. Guys just need to focus on their play—switching up lines and such might only be an unnecessary distraction at this point. When the Hawks are playing well, they are clearly a better team than Anaheim. Consistency is the key.

Hawks have a knack for coming through in tough spots in the playoffs. I like our chances tonight.

    • Sopel the catfish

“Almost wish I had to work today”
      emphasis on the almost.

      • Sopel the catfish

If one of my friends would have committed I would have bought a $115 SRO ticket and ducked out of work a tad early to get down for the game, just not willing to do it and pay for parking by mysefl.

    • To Saad be the glory

Looks like Runblad is in,Timonen out according to all the Twitter scribes.

  • Lionel Hutz

Rundblad and Cumiskey went off before 44 and TVR stayed out. That would seem to say that Rundblad is in and 44 is out.

  • Sopel the catfish

DeBoer to the Sharks, they don’t seem to happy about it, apparently he has a Q-like reputation for not playing the young-ins.

  • Just get this freaking game to Saturday back in Anaheim. Whatever it takes, whomever it takes just get this back to Saturday….

  • margincall

Sorry .. at this point and what we have witnessed. You all are never ever going to convince me healthy Rundblad is better than 44…Here we go again. Same F%%ked up personnel decisions as last year. Same off ice drama.. Ever notice you dont hear that from the Ducks end? Sorry guys. Ive had it with the whole world knowing the best option except this ego maniac. Colonel Joel Kurtz.

    • margincall

i should correct. A healthy Rundblad “is not” better. IE id rather have Rundlbad in than 44

  • WhiteSox_History

I share the same feelings as you guys. At work, can’t focus. Only thinking about tonight.
Glad that TVR is sitting this one out. If Hawks win, I think it’s in spite of Q, not because of. This team is so much more talented than Anaheim. Let’s Go Hawks.

  • GoldenJet

Just found out I’m going tonight! I’ll do my best to give them a push back to California.

Eliminate the unforced errors and we should handle this.

    • Brandon Murray

Listen to me son, this is very important. If you get the shot to drop an elbow on Perry’s vagina, you take it.

  • O’Ree

He’s the Golden Jet. There are things he knows that we will NEVER know. But sometimes he is willing to share his wisdom, and we are the better for it:

“[Bobby Hull] believes Wednesday’s Game 6 won’t be the final time he watches his team win this post-season.

‘I’ve gotta believe that the Blackhawks are the guys with the big hearts and the most character and you’ll see that in the Finals playing for the Stanley Cup again this year,’ said Hull.”

I know what I’ll be doing this Saturday night, and well into June. Bobby done told me.

    • GoldenJet

      I’m sayin’
