    Let’s go Hawks!!!
    Let’s go Hawks!!!
    Let’s go Hawks!!!

  • BigCSouthside

Just read CTA’s game 7 survival guide. FUCK, I was fine before reading that.

    • bizarrohairhelmet

Yog-Sothoth, the Goat With A Thousand Young will not cure our powerplay.

    • zacked

MMD, that was so good. The thought of having little Burishes makes me want a vasectomy.

  • Nineteen88

Man, Crow looked and sounded completely exhausted in that interview. Rest up, guys. GO HAWKS.

  • cliffkoroll

Verdi is awesome. Great quotes from Zus, such as “This is fun.”

That’s right! Go out and have a blast. Back from the dead. No squeezing sticks.

    • cliffkoroll

      /lights Bolland candle

      • Country_Bumpkin

“Bolly,Come out, come out wherever you are.” The Rat NEEDS to make an appearance tonight.

      • ChicagoNativeSon

Hey keep any and all flammables away from Bolly.

He’s preparing for his new “Bolland Detroit Explosion” photo-shoot.

        • Accipiter

          Same thing happened to Frodo.

  • ChicagoNativeSon

“Were the Blackhawks to advance in this season’s playoffs, it would reverse a significant trend in team history. Coming into this series, Chicago was 1-19 all-time when losing three of the first five games in a playoff series and 0-11 when losing three of the first four games, a position that they found themselves in during this series. The only time Chicago came back from the former deficit was in the 1965 series against Detroit, when the team lost its first two meetings on the road, but won four of the next five games to advance.”

    http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/blogpost.htm?id=18014

Enjoy the rest of your day, all. You’re welcome.

    • Nineteen88

Jesus christ, you just had to share that sweet little tidbit, didn’t you. It’s not healthy for my blood pressure to be this high before lunch.

      • bizarrohairhelmet

Wait. getting high is bad for the blood pressure now? When did this happen? This world sucks.

        • Nineteen88

Hah. Honestly I could probably use some chemical enhancement right now. It could only help.

          • BigCSouthside

            agreed

    • cliffkoroll

      waaaay overdue!

  • ChicagoNativeSon

I really believe that the Hawks are going to completely smoke the Wings tomorrow tonight. And we’re all gonna be saying “Where the fuck was this since game 1 5 6??”

What comes after that, who knows?
    (well, LA)

    • BigCSouthside

Its time to fuck shit up and send those shit stains back to America’s Mogadishu to work on their golf game.

      • Nineteen88

        Upboat for “America’s Mogadishu.”

        • Waylon

The thing is, that joke is less of a parody than a reality now.

      • VerStig

Fun fact: the artist credited for the song when you first see Mogadishu in Black Hawk Down has another song called Abdelkader

        • M7

Amazing. I looked it up and it checks out. Abdel Kader, but yeah… close enough. Too funny really.

  • BigCSouthside

One thing bothers me. Will the refs try to “make up call” for the penalty shot given to Frolik (even though it warranted a PS) because the perception is that it was a gift call?

    • MySpoonIsTooBig

I definitely understand that worry, but hopefully it doesn’t come to fruition. There are 2 reasons to remain optimistic – 1, the penalty shot was 100% the correct call. 2, if you want to call it a gift call (i.e. you’re an idiot and/or a Scum fan), then that would constitute the make up call for the BS disallowed goal in game 3.

    • cliffkoroll

I don’t get this. At the time, I’d rather have had the two minutes- the Hawks were winning already, they might score, and it wold knock a couple minutes off the clock, compared to a low-percentage shoot-out against Howard (I didn’t know he was pouting and wasn’t gonna try.)

    • zacked

I thought the Frolik call was a make-up call, for Toews, Saad and Sharp all getting ripped down on breakaways earlier in the series.

    • roadhog

I think makeup calls spanning two games is unlikely. It’ll be a different crew methinks . . . Unlikely one crew would try and make up for another.

  • ballyb11

All you guys can relax and take it easy. I’m worrying for all of you.

    • BigCSouthside

I think Ive already smoked half a pack today.

    • bizarrohairhelmet

      So….you’re the inverse Lebowski.

    • roadhog

Ballyb11 is sheparding the worried and bunker-bound, and I’m covering those overflowing with faith and confidence, so everyone is covered here- cautious optimism is justified. Adhere to any superstition, ritual or practice which you believe will appease the hockey gods and deliver us from scum.

  • corbant

Game 7 tonight. Running on only a couple hours sleep because I was called into work 4.5 hours early. Yup. I’m pretty much useless right now.

    • BigCSouthside

Ive been useless since I got in this AM. I intend to be useless for the rest of the day

      • shooter

had a lot of plans for work this morning…shitstacks

        • BigCSouthside

I didnt. I had a lot of plans for drinking coffee and smoking cigs on company time.

          • MySpoonIsTooBig

It’s days like today that I both rejoice and regret the fact that I no longer smoke…

      • Accipiter

        Start slow and taper off.

      • Nineteen88

I have done approximately 4 minutes of productive work today. They’re basically paying me to sit here, breathe, and read hockey blogs until 5 pm.

        • Accipiter

You probably have to wear pants though.

          • Nineteen88

            Yeah. Bummer.

        • BigCSouthside

Yeah, pretty much the same. My work day was: 7:30 am, read work emails. 7:35am acknowledge work emails and send one fax. 7:40 to present, nothing but blogs, cigs, coffee.

          • Nineteen88

I’m taking an occasional break from the blogs to watch inspirational YouTube vids of the Hawks, but yeah, that sounds about right (except the cigs. Quit four years ago, craving one now, damn you!).

          • BigCSouthside

Tried quitting, hockey fucked that up

        • High and Wide

I’d rather be busy! I showed up almost two hours “late” (we are not currently busy enough for it to matter when I show up) and STILL didn’t have anything to work on for another two hours. LOSING IT.

  • Korab22

Hopefully Bettman learned his lessons well from David Stern and has advised the officials that the clutch and grab/interference bullshit needs to end tonight because Chicago vs. LA needs to happen. Assuming the NBA conspiracy theories are just that, conspiracy theories, than the Hawks forwards better be ready to fight through it all night long. No excuses.

I actually like the Kings, admire their tenacity and took some pleasure in their Cup run last year. However, I’m starting to get sick of hearing about how they’re built for the playoffs and they work so hard and their goalie is the greatest ever and oh my what a relentless forecheck and on and on and on. And of course, when this slobberfest over the Kings is rolled out, it’s immediately contrasted with how the Hawks play. We’re soft, we’re all finesse, we don’t hit, and every other lazy cliché we have to hear (and hopefully WILL have to hear starting at around 10:00 CST tonight).

Please Hockey Gods, let us have this series!

    • Country_Bumpkin

Oh yeah, Mike Quick is the best goalie of all time. I’ve heard that ad nauseum.

      • Korab22

I very much want to see these arguments/debates played out on the ice and stop being played in Barry Rozner’s columns. I can meatball it up with the best of them. I read Rozner daily, make all attempts to watch Coach’s Corner, complain like hell about lack of effort, and have shouted hit ‘em more then once in my life. But with the help of TOS, members of this site, and working the steps, I can say I will not be a meatball today. Eliminating the “almighty” Kings could lead to a complete recovery. Damn. Almost forgot. One game at a time, one game at a time, one game at a time…LETS GO HAWKS!

      • laaarmer

        Fear him.

        • Accipiter

          Obey my dog.

        • Country_Bumpkin

No. He’s turning into Mike Smith with his method acting. Got caught for flopping when Burrish impaled him with his stick.

    • zacked

Jesus man don’t ask the hockey gods for something. They are old gods, they smite those who supplicate. If you want results, they accept only sacrifice.

      • Korab22

The Wings have been a cute story, but it ends tonight! No one outside of LA and Detroit wants to see that match-up. Not even Hockey Gods. And believe me, the Gods know of my faithfulness and unspoken sacrifices.

    • http://www.cheertheanthem.com/ Hjammertime

I just don’t want to lose to Darryl Sutter.

      • laaarmer

I can’t understand. What did you say?

  • Bob Lanz

Bench Bolland start smith in his place… Unfortunately it won’t happen

  • WWW

What is Datsyuk doing in this gif? http://i.imgur.com/Y3MmKM0.gif

    • BigCSouthside

      I dont know, something Russian-y

Even better in this gif is the “fuck my ass with a cactus, this thing is going to 7 in Chicago” look on everyone elses face.

      • DesertHawk

No but they’re excited ,remember. Babs said so.

        • Country_Bumpkin

Maybe Babs is excited for the Chicago nightlife, but I would be disappoint if I were a Red Wing, knowing my magical run was O-VAH.

      • bizarrohairhelmet

Babdickater looks like he really wants to celebrate that sweet goal.

        • High and Wide

He totally looks jealous and conflicted.

      • lizmcneill

What’s the Russian for FML, I imagine that’s what Datsyuk’s saying.

    • Accipiter

I think he is telling Fro that he invented that move.

    • shooter

For some reason I can’t stop watching this…can someone cut this gif so it looks like fro’s just going in a circle from right to left seamlessly?

    • ChicagoNativeSon

      “You’re welcome.”

      “You’re welcome.”

      “You’re welcome.”

      And you.

      And you.

      And…

    • laaarmer

Cleary is trying to follow him, but is just a little too slow.

      • WWW

        Hahaha

    • roadhog

      Love this . . . and I can’t stop watching . . .

      • Nineteen88

        It’s hypnotic, isn’t it?

    • VerStig

I was re-watching the highlights last night just for kicks and Babcock has that exact same look on his face for the entire 3rd period

      • Nineteen88

Everyone else in the gif is moving at least a little. Babs is like a creepy, glaring statue.

        • bizarrohairhelmet

He looks like he’s ready to beat the fuck out of reality.

          • http://www.lotsofbutterplease.com/ I am not Chico Maki

            upped that one

      • Curtain Jerker

Also and I’m probably the only one who noticed this but Babs wore the exact same suit and shirt with a slightly different tie in Game 6 as he did in Game 4

        • Nineteen88

They burned down all the dry cleaners in Detroit years ago.

    • ahnfire

just as awesome is the gif of the bench when Fro scores, and you see Toews jumping up and down like a kid on Christmas.

      • Accipiter

Bolland was smiling and you could read his lips, ‘Fro Fro !’

        It was frightening.

    • CozBullsFan

I think he actually spit at Fro Fro. Very unlike him to do that.

      • roadhog

He’s not up for the Byng this year, so . . . let that lewgy fly!!

    • chidiver

I keep coming back to this when the anxiety levels peak regarding tonight. In my mind I just keep saying woohoo!…woohoo!…woohoo!

      Thanks. Keeping me sane.

      • roadhog

I get 10 or 15 minutes of work done, somebody mentions hockey or I get a text re: the game tonight, and I come back here . . .

        • chidiver

I’ve spent much unproductive time today. Intended to work out…nope. Chores…nope. I did get a job interview in this morning, but all that did was accelerate the release of stress hormones today.

  • laaarmer

If Babcock goes with Daysyuk – Zetterberg – slow guy, who does Q counter with? Toews, Boland Shaw or Handzus?

    • Accipiter

      We will probably see 10-36-88.

      • laaarmer

        Really?
        Not Toews Hossa Bickell?

        • Accipiter

          No, not really.

          • laaarmer

You think Kane and Sharp can handle them in the D zone?

          • Accipiter

I wasn’t serious. Your line would be good.

          • laaarmer

            praise jeebus
I thought you had gone off the deep end for the third time without a paddle.

          • Accipiter

I’m too good of a swimmer, I’m in the deep end all the time.

        • G Man

I stick with 19′s line on those guys. I am in favor of 26, winning draws for the 88/10 duo, stick with the new combo of 65, 20 and 25. And I wouldn’t mind seeing the d stars of 67 and 16 riding with either 22 or 52 tonight instead of wounded/ winded Rat. Someone to bang hard with their weak d on the forecheck. Also gives you net presence on every line.

    • cliffkoroll

      Marlboro 72

      • laaarmer

5 on 2? Keith with all that open ice…………

  • Country_Bumpkin

In other news Tortorella got fired.

    • laaarmer

Be fun to ask him about it at a news conference

    • Preacher

Saw that one coming a while ago. He’s too much of a soap opera all by himself. He provides his own drama. Most organizations aren’t thrilled with that out of their coach. Oh, and he didn’t win enough either.

  • laaarmer

    I relapsed over to SCH.
    the Z. It’s so beautiful.

    • DesertHawk

      It is innit.

      • laaarmer

ccm still spells Frolik with a c

        ver

        • Nineteen88

          LOL

    • ahnfire

awww your grouchiness on both sites!

      • laaarmer

        where am I?

        • ahnfire

          I don’t know, it’s a mystery.

          • neo1978

Does the Mod ability give you any inside information? It seems like about a third of the people went here after the split, a third stayed with the Z key and maybe a third of the people just left after the lockout. Or maybe I am just imagining things.

          • Nineteen88

There seem to be a few who move back and forth. I do, because I like people in both places. I barely tolerate Disqus at the best of time, and can’t handle it during games, so I’m there exclusively then.

          • ahnfire

not the type you’re asking about. I only know because I still spend time on both sites, but your estimate are about correct.

  • Jenbees

I feel good. And that is making me feel like I want to throw up.

    • Country_Bumpkin

Likewise, but I am still confident.

  • ahnfire

new thread for all of us to pace around in, staring at the clock that refuses to move: http://thecommittedindian.com/search-and-destroy-game-7-scum-vs-hawks-preview-pregame-thread-delousing/
