That first Perds article is kinda sad, seems like they won the cup after game 2 but lost it yesterday, already accepting defeat “at least we didn’t get shut out every game and some guys got goals”

    • Bmichaelc

Def sounded like the admission of defeat.

Definitely a down beat article for a team one win away from tying the series.

I thought the same thing. Let’s hope the Nashville players a feeling the same way this morning (kinda doubt it, tho).

“Corey is one of the best goalies in the world and it’s an honor to be his goalie partner. Corey’s gonna be fine,” Darling said, continuing to be a model of decorum. “I definitely don’t think that they helped him out hardly at all, especially toward end of (Game 2).

“I have a lot of respect for him as a goalie and as a Blackhawks fan even before I got here. I would do anything to have half the success at the NHL level he’s had. For him to welcome me the way he did was huge, and I think we’ve been a pretty good duo.”

11-16-65 had some nice shifts. Shaw is so much more effective when he can just cut loose and wreak havoc. There was a lot of moaning about sitting Tuevo, but these guys brought edge and production yesterday, something which is pretty unlikely at this point with 42-16-86. Q made the right move. Now if Vermette can raise his game we might just get rolling.

I was pleasantly surprised that Shaw was moved back to the 4th line and to wing (didn’t think Q would do it). I don’t see this as a demotion, he’s just more effective there than 3rd line center. Desjardins surprised me, too. I didn’t expect him to have that much of an impact, but that combination 11-16-65 was the Hawks second best line yesterday.
