    1. I can’t remember dreading going to a game so much, probably because of the disappointment of the game at Wrigley. But it was great. Toews gave the fans one for the books.

    2. Hockeenight has a link to a video of John “Bulldog” Drummond from Soldier Field in 1987 that is just so much win. I didn’t click on it (NSFW), but I recall at one point he compares the jostling crowd he is in to being “in the fo’csle of a tramp steamer!” Classic. They don’t make ‘em like him anymore.

    • ballyb11

Drummond, The guy’s about 75 and he’s gonna take on 10 or 12 drunk out of there mind fans. Nope, none like him anymore, not even close.

      *fo’c’sle

    • bizarrohairhelmet

I have no idea what a “fo’c’sle of a tramp steamer” is, but it sounds unruly.

      • cliffkoroll

I read a sci fi book once, which imagined this amazing technology so that someone in your position could merely ‘copy’ and ‘paste’ an unfamiliar expression into a ‘search engine’ and get an answer. I couldn’t really follow the jargon myself, but it sounded pretty cool.

        • Bullitt315

Man, all the good stuff books and movies have that real life just hasn’t come around to adopt. I’m going to have to do some research on that technology.

        • bizarrohairhelmet

Well, smarty pants, the technology is real, but a long ways from being useful (like penicillin). I entered ‘search engine’ into google and it directed me to Ask Jeeves. On your tip, I “searched” the phrase “fo’c’sle of a tramp steamer” and all it showed me was an endless stream of foreskin shots from that dog in that Disney movie. You are a prevert.

          • 10thMountainFire

In all fairness to Jeeves, you’re probably the first person to ask him that.

          • bizarrohairhelmet

Well why does Jeeves know so much about animated dog foreskins?

    • Bannerman

forecastle is how it’s actually spelled. Didn’t you ever see Under Seige? That’s where the crew are trapped on the USS Missouri

    From Suntimes article:

“We’ve got really good chemistry, and sometimes that’s overlooked — the importance of keeping your group together, giving them a chance to show what they can do as a group, as opposed to trying to bring in new pieces. I like the group we have, and we’re excited to go to war with them.”

One possible addition could be highly touted prospect Teuvo Teravainen, whom Bowman said “hypothetically” could join the Hawks this spring once his season in Finland ends.

This Monday is going to suck. I’m building a bunker.

  • lizmcneill

Bollig extended for 3×1.25M. Dammit, Stan!

    • cliffkoroll

      /facepalm

      • ChicagoNativeSon

        We like our people!

        But not all of them.

        Orwell, is that you?

        • cliffkoroll

Part of liking our people is keeping on eye on the salary cap. $1.275 million for an interchangeable part? Hmm.

          • ChicagoNativeSon

Yes, interchangeable in terms of *our* priorities. Not in terms of what the Hawks’ brass (and the NHL as a whole) considers a priority.

Personally, I can take or leave Bollig. But if there’s gotta be someone named “Knuckles” on the roster, he’s proved to be quite coach-able and has improved considerably.

But yeah, agreed. A bit steep on the price.

    • 10thMountainFire

That’s it. I’m out of here.

Hahah. I knew he was going to get extended.

      • lizmcneill

Me too, but for like 800Kx2 or something.

        • VanDorp’sMullet

That’s the right length and dollar amount.

    • jordyhawk

Yikes! I wonder how Kruger at 1.325 feels about this? And if I was re-upping anyone else from 4th line it would have been Benny. YayBenny.

      • lizmcneill

Oh noes they’d better be keeping Ben :’(

    • VanDorp’sMullet

You know, I was just laughing the other day that Scum Jr. is going to pay Ryan Reaves 1.25M and how stupid they were. Sigh.

    • MattC86

I don’t like him, the deal is whatever, but we all have total confirmation bias when it comes to Bollig. He’s invisible most games, which is a good thing. We’ll see what the usage is versus the Western big guns the rest of the way.

      • 10thMountainFire

But for the amount of minutes and the time he’s getting at the end of key contests, I’d like someone visible in that role…
