• Sopel the catfish

    SAADFATHER

  • To Saad be the glory

…..And the masses rose in unison, cheering his greatness. Kneel before Saad!

  • Sopel the catfish

Konroyd wants the d involved in the play, well Odie got involved on that one.
    Also, fuck.

    • Peanut Butter

I did really love Oduya’s play on that. Not only did he lead that rush, he kept going to the net after he dished it to Saad and would have been there to pick up any rebound.

  • TitanTransistor

The Blackhawks are incapable of delivering a consistent, focused, professional effort for 60 minutes. Incapable.

    • Sopel the catfish

I thought* the two games against the Rangers were pretty good.

      • DJ

Obviously, you’re in the bag for Quennville, Stan, et al.

That, or you don’t have your head completely up your posterior.

        • WookRN

Sopel. Ignore the angry Wings fan.

          • Sopel the catfish

I’m not entirely sure what he means, the two lines seem to contradict each other, at least they way I’m interpreting them.

          • DJ

I was sympathizing — and agreeing — with Sopel

          • DJ

And criticizing “fans” who seem to love it when the Hawks play poorly

          • WookRN

That’s my issue. Yes. We’re playing poorly. But that dude disappears when we play well, coming out only to celebrate the losses.

          • Sopel the catfish

Now I get it, thank you.

*edit: tone can be a bitch to figure out in text, that’s why human to human interaction is nice.

          • DJ

No sweat. I’ll try and be clearer in the future

          • Sopel the catfish

I didn’t take it in a negative light, I just didn’t “hear” it in the proper sarcastic tone. Second time around I like it.

          • WookRN

I was referring to the record 10,000 “we’re awful” from the top of this chain.

  • Sopel the catfish

I like how when Rundblad plays with Keith shots seem to make it past more shinpads, gimme Rundblad over Rosie every day.

    • Peanut Butter

Give me herpes over Rozi anyday.

      • Sopel the catfish

        Nah…over Bollig though…

        • Peanut Butter

Bollig=herpes so it’s the same thing

  • Peanut Butter

So we’ve learned that Q sat the 3rd best player in +/- in favor of a corpse and it turns out that the forwards don’t have the Ds if the Ds decide to jump into the play. Neither of these revelations make me feel optimistic.

  • TitanTransistor

It’s about time to stop pretending this team is more than they’re showing.

    • WookRN

      Then leave.

  • Peanut Butter

    Captain my captain!

  • Sopel the catfish

    Odie again with the A!

  • TitanTransistor

This fucking team man. Did Keith hit the bar before the game or what?

  • BestPredsForward

Did Tracey Myers throw shade at Kevin Hayes in her View from the Pressbox?

  • Sopel the catfish

    He just broke Corey’s ankles

  • Hockey

Versteeg, Shaw, Bickell – wtf do these guys do again? Worthless.

  • DJ

Bye bye Crow. Not your night, to say the least.

  • B.I.G. Forever

    Shorthanded goal? Columbus?

They look like shit tonight. I miss Kane 🙁

  • TitanTransistor

Western Conference teams are BEGGING for the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round. As good as a Bye.

  • To Saad be the glory

This is so bad Arlington Rob will be along any sec.

  • DJ

BTW, these popup ads that steer you towards the App Store are even more annoying than the doom-and-gloomers.

    • Sopel the catfish

The experience on mobile vs desktop with adblock is poor.

  • Hockey Newbie

From someone who cannot see the game, is it on Crow or has the D put him in harm’s way again? I can only imagine the mouth breathers will be out trying to cut Crow regardless tonight. Just curious

    • Sopel the catfish

      D

Comments must have at least 2 characters

    • WookRN

Saad just said in the interview Crow has played well, and they’ve left him hanging. 2 goals on odd man rush, and he’s stopped some

    • Peanut Butter

One was a shorthanded goal. I’m not going to blame Crow when the 5 guys in front of him get beat by 4.

    • Hockey Newbie

      Thanks guys

  • To Saad be the glory

Jamaal said the S word. If they say Truculence we are all in trouble.

  • WookRN

In other news…. Timmo is looking better. Nice to see Rundblad. Teuvo is playing his ass off. Oduya is still looking good and we’ll rested.

Seems the D can push more offense with out Rosie.

    • Sopel the catfish

Rundblad doesn’t slow Keith down the way 32 does, Odie has been getting better and better along with Timmo. I look forward to TVR, Rundblad, and Timmo rotating as 5/6.

      • WookRN

And Rundblad can accelerate and change direction.
Curious what TVR looks like after two years of major leg injures. That kid was just getting hot.

        • Sopel the catfish

As long as his doctors gave him the same stem cells they gave Gordie then TVR will be fine.

        • Peanut Butter

Can’t look any worse than Rozi.

  • Sopel the catfish

Nifty move by VERSTEEG, Teuvo trying to learn the lesson Kane took years to learn…SHOOT, that’s at least 2 from outside the circle and I like it.

  • Sopel the catfish

I thought that was in, good effort Richards

  • Icdwss

    Rozival will never sit again

  • B.I.G. Forever

What is wrong with this team? Why can’t they SCORE?

  • B.I.G. Forever

Brandon Saad is a revelation and should have the Calder in his trophy case.

  • Icdwss

Guys, hawks getting their asses kicked.

  • Sopel the catfish

Odie feeling it tonight, nice chance there

  • Peanut Butter

Honestly Oduya so far is the Hawk’s #1 player of the game. His play has been outstanding!

    • WookRN

Nice to see him playing this well. Remember him 🙂

  • Sopel the catfish

Teuvo holding his own in a board battle, Hossa soo close to a pinching Hammer, Hawks are upping the pressure. The score isn’t good but they haven’t quit.

    • WookRN

The pressure is there. We’re IN this game….a couple good looks, solidify some passes….

      • Sopel the catfish

2 goal lead is the second most dangerous behind the 3 goal lead.

  • Sopel the catfish

    Holy crap that was larceny

  • Sopel the catfish

    CHICAGO NATIVE*tm DRINK!!

  • To Saad be the glory

    Chicago native! Drink!!

  • WookRN

I think Rundblad wants to come and play again….kid is pushing HARD.

  • Sopel the catfish

He got hit in the face after almost hitting the other guy in the face, and helped sell it. Good job Shaw.

    • Peanut Butter

Yeah I thought the same thing when I watched the replay.

  • TitanTransistor

Well, that we certainly a better period overall. Low bar, but small victories.

  • T.M.

Darling makes a Tony O. save

  • Icdws

I was trapped in disqus hell! No Rozival yeah. No D boo. Saad goal yeah! No crow, boo. Odduya yeah! Bickel boo. TT yeah. Foley Edzo laughing while team is down 2 fuck you.

    • The Hull With It

How I hate Pat Foley. His voice sounds like someone strangling a cat, and he never, never shuts up.

  • Sopel the catfish

    Weaksauce

  • Sopel the catfish

Sweet pass Versteeg, nice move Rundblad and he draws a penalty.

  • WookRN

more good work by Timmo. Nice if we could have score on ONE of the PP

  • hockey

My God is Versteeg painful to watch. He and Bickell are dead weight

    • Sopel the catfish

He just had some nice moves and passes

      • WookRN

They both have points. Dead weight would be Bollig.

In real news, anyone think Raanta looked better than Darling? Just me?

        • Peanut Butter

Can’t agree on Raanta. I never felt at ease when he was in goal. He would lose his net often and he sometimes made some really goofy decisions. When Darling is in net, I feel more comfortable.

          • WookRN

I think Darling loses the puck and just had to rely on his size….And he spends FAR to much time in the trapazoid given his lack of speed and athleticism. My two cents.

          • Peanut Butter

Possibly but his size is such an asset. I would have been nervous if the Hawks didn’t sign him because I wouldn’t want to have to play against him. The Hawks already have enough trouble with bigger goalies.

          • WookRN

Agreed on asset. Regarding signing. I dunno. I think he’ll always be a back up. And we have issues with random goalies random nights.(first Calgary game, etc).

          • Peanut Butter

I think there are a few teams who would have picked him up and made a starter out of him cause he would be better than what they already had.

          • WookRN

Sure/ maybe. Again, this is just my opinion/ eye test. And not that he’s a bad goalie. I’m just a little more comfortable with Raanta. But there are places that would have probably used him (2 months ago Wild.)

          • The Hull With It

You must be forgetting Raanta in shootouts. He over reacts to every move and leaves gaping holes. Come to think of it that’s my problem with Raanta in general. Too skittish, always jumping around.

A decent backup, though. Just not as solid as Darling. And, did you know Daring is a Lamont native?

  • TitanTransistor

Versteeg and Crawford laughing it up on the bench in a loss that puts the Wild within 1. That’s the kind of professionalism I like to see.

    • Sopel the catfish

I would much rather that it crushed them since the season is over, if we can’t be the Jackets we shouldn’t even play in April.

    • Icdws

Good thing Q tanked the Flyers game. 2 points now who needs them

    • WookRN

What would you like Crow to do in a game that he’s benched for. He’s the only reason we’re still within one.

      • Icdws

        Not laugh

      • The Hull With It

Be pissed off and embarrassed at the poor performance. You look at the best goalies and they are mean bastards. Not goof off clowns who fall down stairs, and joke around when they have a horrible game.

  • WookRN

Imagine if we played the first period like the other two….. Need to play all 60

  • TitanTransistor

This team needs to get booed off the ice.

  • Icdws

Playoffs are in doubt if they don’t get any points Sunday or monday

  • Hockey Newbie

Why do I have a funny feeling they will show good on Monday? It is like they go through the motions for lesser teams but will play smart, responsible hockey against teams that are playing better than them

    • Sopel the catfish

Gotta play it up for the mob

Listen to me. Learn from me. I was not the best because I killed
quickly. I was the best because the crowd loved me. Win the crowd and
      you will win your freedom.

      • seabsrat

        Shadows and dust.

    • Icdws

Not this years team. The idea they take teams lightly is ridiculous. It’s time to recognize this team is not very good.

      • Hockey Newbie

I am not saying they are very good or not. I just think the maddening aspect is they can tank against Philly or Columbus, but look really solid against NY and last game against Win. I am not expecting a long run in the playoffs, but would also not be shocked if they pulled off a series or two along the way.

        • Icdws

Hey I am with you. Games like the rangers or blues we saw earlier this winter are inticing and you think, ah they are back, they can turn it on when they want. But the body of work THIS season is more like what we saw tonight. Flashes of game, but in the end about 22 minutes of hockey. As for the flyers game q tanked that game. They have a lot of dead weight on this crew: Bickel shaw versteeg sharp nordstrom not to mention Rozival the king of the dead weights . Hard to win with this roster. Sad to say it, I love the hawks and had high hopes for this year, but I’m losing hope now. They aren’t even fun to watch anymore. That’s the worst part..

          • Hockey Newbie

I feel you. I am not as down on guys like Nordstrom, VerBeauty or even Shaw. Maybe it is pure “meatball naivete” but I tend to believe is more on the coach than the dead weight. Put players in the best position to accentuate their strengths, stop blending lines and build cohesion and then see what you got. I think Nordstrom is fine in his 4th line role, and even Shaw is fine as a 3rd line winger, but not a top 2 lines player, not a faceoff guy and not as a top PP guy. I do not see enough games to comment on day in and day out effort, but the last few national games were not pretty. My question now is not only why does Q make some of the moves he makes, but are teh players tuning him out at this point?

          • Icdws

Good points, especially players tuning Q out. The flyers game may be a turning point. That was putting a team out there that was not designed to win. If you ever played for a coach that did that to you it is a genuine fuck you moment. I know these guys are “professionals” but they are athletes first.

  • Dan Treadwell

This team just flat out blows. There’s no sugar coating it. There is just no desire at all. Come end of season when the Hawks are swept out if the first round there better be several major changes, starting with the head coach. I’d love to see Bowman get shit canned too, but there’s not a chance in hell that’s gonna happen. There’s probably 20 other teams playing better hockey right now and could take this team in a best of 7. This is beyond frustrating. It’s very sad. Gone from a dynasty in the making to pile of flaming shit in such a short time.

    • Sopel the catfish

      Troll post trolls.

      • To Saad be the glory

Yeah, but a year ago these trolls would have been Crawford trolls, now dey just love to hate dem Hawks.

      • Peanut Butter

I don’t know if he’s a troll but I can’t honestly disagree with him though and have said similar things (regarding the firing of Q if this season ends the way I am now expecting it to). This was the best chance with this core group and they blew it. Now comes the cap crunch. So better get a coach who doesn’t mind playing younger inexperienced guys cause there are about to be a ton more of them.

  • nick

First time I’ve listened to the new shellac album. Solid.
