September 27, 2012 at 6:32 pm #642why are like all of these on channels i don’t get? what is FCS even?
September 27, 2012 at 6:52 pm #644what is BTN? I’ll try to watch the NBCSN ones, especially the Wisconsin games for Badger.
September 27, 2012 at 8:22 pm #645BTN is the Big Ten Network. I can tell you it is 610 on DirecTV.
September 28, 2012 at 12:26 am #648WTF? No North Dakota hockey until February? And only because they are playing Nebraska-Omaha outdoors. I’ll be there anyways, so screw the Big Ten Network.
*sigh* I miss my college hockey nemesis, Badgerdano.
September 28, 2012 at 9:19 am #649Hmm. When the article said “nationally televised” I assumed that the games would be on, well, national television! I didn’t look at the actual names of the channels. FCS is Fox College Sports, which on my cable you have to pay extra for [not happening]. CBSSN – I don’t think I get that channel at all. What the hell!
September 28, 2012 at 11:13 am #650I think the only one I get is BTN. I think they show more hockey than this schedule says. BTN shows games two ways: the big Big Ten Network production games with real commentators and everything; and student produced games that are very low budget. They occasionally will show Women’s College Hockey but if they do, it will always be the low budget affairs :/
September 28, 2012 at 9:10 pm #655I watched the last season’s Frozen Four Championship between BC and Ferris today on the ESPN app for xbox360. It ran the whole game! I’ve caught college hockey once or twice before and only half-heartedly payed attention, but I sat and watched the whole game and it was a lot of fun to watch. I actually caught myself revving up on my couch and jumping and screaming at goals and bad calls. I recommend watching college hockey to any and all skeptics.
October 1, 2012 at 5:41 pm #700I look forward to checking out Notre Dame. They play in the weakest of the college conferences (CCHA, Go BGSU) but they have a couple players I’m interested in. Stephen Johns (CHI) is entering his Jr. year and is the Irish’s top defensive defencemen. Also, he’s on the Hawks radar, I am hoping he’ll get his ELC after his Jr. year. Another couple of guys I’m watching is T.J. Tynan, he’s small (5’8″ 165) but he has excellent vision and playmaking skills, has lead the Irish in back to back seasons as a Fr + So. Mario Lucia (MIN) will be an interesting watch in his Fr. year. Finally, Andres Lee (NYI) will return as the Irish top scorer (17 last year)
October 4, 2012 at 12:07 pm #757I’ve been hearing ads on the radio for this doubleheader of college hockey games in February at Soldier Field:
Notre Dame vs. Miami, then Minnesota vs. Wisconsin

Looks like a lot of fun – but tickets seem to be selling fast!http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/040048EACCD64075?artistid=1753563&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=9
October 5, 2012 at 12:58 am #783I’ve got tickets to the Soldier Field shindig. We should plan some type of meet-up (or meth-up, if the season still hasn’t started by then)
October 15, 2012 at 11:24 pm #991No Miami Red Hawks… Sigh…
October 17, 2012 at 12:27 pm #1024NBCSN is the old VERSUS
CBSSN is CBS Sports Network. It’s around channel 612 or so on Directv
FCS is Fox Sports Channel I think – also on Directv
BTN is Big Ten Network. -
